Hi Harry! Hmmm, it sounds quite a bit nicer in Canberra, Australia than it does here in Auckland doesn't it? I have been sitting at my computer blogging for the past few hours and looking at the rain falling outside as I write.

I am really hoping that the sun will start shining, soon, as Aronui (my son) and I were hoping to get to the beach this week. It isn't looking very promising!

Have you and your family been outside enjoying the summer weather at all? I hope that you've had a really nice break to date and had a really nice new years.

I'm really looking forward to blogging with you lots over the next few weeks. I'm excited to learn more about Canberra/Australia as we go!

Keep up the great work, Harry :)

Cheers,
Rachel

Kia ora Harry,

By the looks of it you're in for a pretty nice visit to Canberra! I agree with Rachel, we sure could use some of that sunshine over here in Auckland at the moment. With that much sunshine, make sure you remember to pack a sunhat and sunblock so you don't get sunburnt!

It's interesting how some countries use Fahrenheit and others use Celsius to measure temperature don't you think? It can definitely get confusing sometimes though. Here in NZ we use degrees celsius, like today in Auckland the temperature is around 23 degrees Celsius, but if it were measured in Fahrenheit we'd say it's around 73 degrees Fahrenheit. So for your Tuesday forecast, instead of 78 degrees Fahrenheit, it would be 26 degrees Celsius. Does that make sense?

Even though we haven't been getting too much sunshine here in Auckland, I hope you have been making the most of your holidays by getting outside as much as you can. What's something you've done in your holidays so far that you really enjoyed? I just got back from the South Island where I got to explore right down the bottom of the New Zealand! It was very cool (and cold too).

Until next time Harry,
Dan.
