This is a google drawing I made about Speech marks. I typed what speech marks are used for, where they are used, an example of speech marks used in dialogue, video about speech marks and some synonyms for said (synonym means exactly or nearly the same as another word). Here is the Link to the video since it doesn't work on google drawing.
I am a Year 8 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in LS2 and my teachers are Mrs Anderson and Ms Kirkpatrick.

For writing we were learning about hyperbole's. Hyperbole's are a type of exaggeration. In my google drawing I am explaining more about hyperbole's, how to pronounce it and an example of when to use a hyperbole and what exaggerating is.

Paper planes - Maths
For our maths flight we each choose a plane design and the best thrower in our group to see who threw the farthest. Thomas was our thrower and the other competitors were: Shannon, Zahn, Manu/Victora since he was sent outside, Latham, Gozan, AJ and Tai. First is Thomas, second Tai and Zahn came third. The classroom had to be closed since the wind might come along and mess up the actual scores, after the throwing the planes in a closed place, we opened the doors and windows to see what the planes would have been like. Thomas came first AJ came second and Tai came third for the fourth throw.
Recount quiz
For this weeks reading we were learning about recounts. We were finding examples of recounts from the blogs of other schools we were seeing what they wrote in their recounts. If there was something interesting, we would add it to our recount examples. We then did a quiz about recounts I scored seven out of ten. I got 6, 8 and 10 incorrect since those three were related to the one answer I didn't know. I don't want to spoil the answers for the ones that want to do the quiz.

Pigeon Post
For this week for Reading we were learning about whether or not pigeons are helpful or pests. We also had to do a question matrix with Who, What, Which, Where, Why and How on the top and is/are, did/do/does, could/can, will, would, might and should at the sides. We also wrote our opinions on whether or not we think they are helpful or pests, I said that in the past they are helpful and in the present most or maybe all are pests.
